Funky Flock Seed Feeders

The Funky Flock Seed Feeders are intended to combine the utility of a very efficient seed feeder with pigeon/dove resistance with a simple and colourful charm to enhance your garden. It encourages a large set of the smaller seed eating birds.

In addition, the feeders are designed to preserve seed as far as possible. Generally a fair proportion of the seed being eaten is spilt to the ground (where doves may be expected to gather). Funky Flock Seed Feeders are designed with a loose drawer that captures most of this seed as well as the discarded seed husks. One simply withdraws this tray, and upon exercising a light blowing action the lighter husks are removed, leaving remaining uneaten good seed that can be re-introduced into the seed capture area. This concept is named the "Seed Saver Tray".

The series encompasses eight designs, namely the African Hoopoe, the Greater Double Collared Sunbird, the Cape Robin-chat, the African Penguin, the Helmeted Guinea Fowl, the Red Bishop, the Southern Masked Weaver, and the Cape Sparrow. Initially, only the African Hoopoe has been released.
