It is no secret: Birds love insects!

We have an affordable option to the ubiquitous meal worm offers - the Luv Bug. Whereas the dried Luv Bugs look like (and have a similar consistency to) freeze dried meal worms, and have similar nutritional value, they are produced in South Africa (a large number of freeze dried meal worms are imported). Furthermore they are a better value proposition.

If you need to know why we call them "Luv Bugs" check out the reaction from your local robin-chat when he sees them for the first time! Luv Bugs are ideal for cape robin-chats, olive thrushes, and indeed, insectivorous birds in general. Our recommendation is to use either a traditional meal worm feeder or try a really fun option: create a "scratch patch" using an old 400 square cm container filled with some topsoil, and with a handful of Luv Bugs mixed into the soil - the thrushes love scratching for their worms!

The worms are safe to use, and have a low odour footprint (very similar to freeze dried meal worms). They truly are fun for the whole family!
